Madre Mia - Pizzas Napolitaines et pâtes à Nantes 🇮🇹

(Edited review at the bottom of the page, but I'll leave the original review below.) This review only concerns the Madre Mia pizzeria, which is part of the Food Kourt. I love this pizzeria, period. The pizzas are large (only one size available), very good, the tomato sauce is homemade, the ingredients are fresh, and you can watch the chefs prepare the pizzas and the different ingredients with complete transparency. This is traditional Italian pizza, not American-style garbage. The pizzas are baked in a real stone pizza oven. If you're still eating Domino's in 2025, then have some self-respect and go eat Madre Mia's pizzas. Sure, they're a bit more expensive, but they're well worth the price. Plus, they're made by real Italians, so you have nothing to worry about; it's authentic. And if you're too lazy to eat pizza, there's plenty more to choose from at FoodKourt that you'll enjoy. My opinion is based on regular visits to Madre Mia between 6 and 7 pm on weekdays. And to the pizza chef... Thank you so much, boss. ================== UPDATE as of June 30, 2026: The pizza chef who made Madre Mia a must-try for Neapolitan pizza is no longer part of the team, and his replacement is unfortunately not up to par. The Margherita is made with Emmental cheese instead of mozzarella, and the pizza has no flavor, except for the sadness of seeing how much it's changed. The pizza dough was a bit heavy and hard to digest; the dough wasn't airy enough.

Disappointing considering the ratings... It's not bad, but nothing exceptional. The pizzas lack seasoning and flavor (salt, spices, pepper!). The price is unbeatable, which is a shame because you can tell the ingredients are quite fresh.

The food court atmosphere was a bit seedy, with unpleasant smells and no air conditioning (note that we were there on a very hot day). We waited 45 minutes for three pizzas, even though the place seemed empty. The pizza itself had an average crust and mediocre ingredients. I won't be going back anytime soon. The only positive was that the staff were friendly.

What a pleasure to discover a culinary experience that so delights our taste buds with a wide variety of fresh products, in an iconic location that conceals a simultaneously gourmet and refined atmosphere. The staff is pleasant in a comfortable and cozy setting. I highly recommend it without hesitation.
